Basic Safety for Your Energy Field

2020 has been a year like no other in modern memory. Depending on your outlook, it’s either been a year full of illness, isolation, despair and division -OR- a year of transitions, introspection, transformations and rebirth. Either way, this year has provided a great opportunity to discuss good energy hygiene.

Do you have clear and healthy energetic boundaries or are you letting hateful and divisive rhetoric batter and trigger you into a fight? When someone dumps their bad mood in your direction, what is your response? Getting dragged into a low vibration by those around you or by your interactions with someone trolling you online is a common problem and one that can be addressed by paying close attention to your energy and protecting it from outside interference.

Here are three things that you can do to keep your energy safe in these tumultuous times:

First and foremost, take a minute to imagine that you are at the center of a bubble of white light. Almost like a snow globe. Inside the bubble you are safe from any form of low vibration or darkness that is not for your highest good. Everything that enters that bubble must pass through pure white light. Next, make sure that the bubble is big enough to fit your energy comfortably. It should be at least 12 feet in all directions. If you feel pressure, ask your bubble to expand until it feels good. If you are having trouble imagining the bubble, ask for help from a divine source (God, angels, light worker, guides - whatever that is for you). However you perceive this bubble is right for you. Maybe it’s a purple ball of flame, maybe you don’t get a picture at all but just a feeling. Everyone is different, trust your own way of perceiving. Now, set your intention that this bubble of protective light always surrounds you. At every moment of day and night, ask it to always be there.

Second, ask yourself what the experience is trying to teach you. Take a step back from the situation. Why are you triggered? Is someone unloading their bad day and you just happen to be the recipient? If yes, then imagine a wall of white light between you and the person unloading and realize that whatever is being spewed really isn’t about you. You do not need to take it in. Ask the person to stop or walk (or scroll) away. Be firm about what you will and won’t allow in your space.

Last, and most simply, put yourself in a space of gratitude. Gratitude is where grace is found. Think of one thing you are grateful for. Just the act of stepping back from a triggering event and thinking about gratitude will shift your energy. It can be anything. There is nothing too small to feel grateful for. Our world is filled with the energy of the divine – we just forget to pay attention.

We are all in this life having a different experience. Each one unique and beautiful in its own way. Never assume that someone else should have the same viewpoint/experience/response as you. Each of us is here on this planet to learn and grow. We all start at a different point and we each have different things to learn. My lessons are not your lessons. What may appear to be ugly, frustrating or even horrifying to me may be exactly what your soul needs to learn in order to advance in its evolution or to help us all evolve.

Always remember, your energy is your own. You don’t owe an ounce of it to any other. It is meant for you. Keep it safe. Keep it protected.
